ed-glen families was started by two moms who wanted to provide families in the greater Edwardsville-Glen Carbon area with a variety of family resources and events. We are blessed to live in such a vibrant, family-oriented community. Whether your family enjoys arts and culture, sports and recreation, or volunteering with community organizations, ed-glen families wants to help you find a place to plug in to the community.  ed-glen families includes a comprehensive website, active Facebook and Twitter sites, and a monthly e-newsletter.

Sara Berkbigler moved to Edwardsville with her husband and three sons in 2008 and, although she was active in her childrens' schools and activities and had a finger on the pulse of family-oriented events, she wished there was a one-stop shop for information and resources.  The concept of ed-glen families began.  With over 18 years in executive management and marketing, Sara put the concept of ed-glen families together.

JoAnne Morse has been in Glen Carbon over 20 years.  She and her husband settled in this area, knowing it is a great area to live and start a family.  Over the years, Jo Anne has been an active volunteer in the community and the school district, and enjoyed staying at home with her two boys.  Now that the boys are both teenagers, she enjoys sharing her knowledge of the area with other families through ed-glen families.  After working a year as an independent sales consultant with ed-glen families, she became a partner in August 2011.

Growth in 2012 ended in a search for a third partner.  Sara and Jo Anne were thrilled to recruit a mother of three and long-term community volunteer, Linda Lawhead, in July 2012. 

Linda has been a resident of Glen Carbon for 23 years. She has been involved in many aspects of the community- as a parent, a volunteer, a consumer, and as a business owner. She and her husband have two daughters, who are both graduates of EHS, and one son, who attends middle school in District 7. The opportunities available in the area appealed to Linda and her family when they were deciding where to settle, and through the years have enriched them all. Working with Sara and Jo Anne, Linda hopes to help others experience the richness of our community.

Linda manages the content for for the website and social networking sites, Jo Anne manages company sales, and Sara serves as the marketing and business manager.  Working together, they have a vision of "connecting families and communities" and are committed to the ed-glen families mission to be "your go-to site for families in the greater Edwardsville-Glen Carbon area."
